The M1/M2 stuff is very intriguing, but I simply cannot switch to them at this
time,
for two reasons: 1) My job is supporting the theme park, and all computers there
are Intel, running either Windows 10 or Ubuntu linux. I use VMware on my Mac
to do this, and that's simply not possible on M1/M2
Quite true on the DVI+ adapters, Jim. When I was researching the move from my
MP cheesegrater to an M2 Mini I had to do a lot of research before I found an
adapter that would handle dual-link DVI and Thunderbolt. There were some folks
in one of my Mac forums who had blazed the trail and laid

Maybe. The DVI plug might have the full complement of analog plus two digital

Dual 30” Apple Cinema Displays that are DVI+ (the digital version of DVI).
Nearly every modern monitor will have HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI+ (maybe) these
days as well as Thunderbolt/USB-C
VGA went away years ago, along with serial ports.
I prefer dual monitors. Everyone I’ve talked to who went
I've got a 32" on our home computer and a 26" as a secondary for my laptop. The
bigger the monitor is the farther away from it you need to be able to get...

You just need a VGA to DVI adapter. They're cheap. Your monitor might have DVI
too. Most made in the last 10 years do, it's been out for 20 years or more.
The other thing there is display port, an HDMI derivative. They make a display
port to HDMI cable.

I have been using DVI with a Dell 2405 FPW which I got used off eBay
When I am in car dealerships I am on theirs all the time and I really
have no idea what size they are. Mine at home is 19 but its too small
and is the largest I have had. Otherwise I am generally on a 15"
laptop. I thought about 24" but then got to thinking about 27".

It's a matter of preference.
At work some people have these huge wide curved monitors, like
Bigger is better as your eyes get older

It appears my monitor does have a dvi port I just have never used that and
don’t have a cable. Probably should just get a new hdmi monitor anyway.

My new HP z4 workstation arrived today. I was going to plug in my monitor but
am I to assume SVGA is no more? These appear to be the monitor ports available
so I supposed I now need a new monitor as well?
