Kaleb, I may have missed it before, but can you tell me what the pc is that you are upgrading? For example, maker/model, processor, mem amt. and type, HD and free space, etc. Also, have you checked that you have the latest Win7 OS upgrades and that your BIOS is current. Also, I would suggest

restore from backup.   You did   make a backup before you started this, Right?   Or you have a backup from last week? there IS a log somewhere on your machine that will have the info about WHY the downgrade failed.   This log will be destroyed when you restore from backup. Kaleb Striplin

So I'm finally left alone at home with enough time to try the upgrade. Plan is to install a bigger faster SSD, then try to upgrade from Win 7 Pro to Win 10. I have the Pro key, but only have installation media (and the key) for Win 7 Home. Let's see if I can make this work Max Dillon

Kaleb, Much like problem determination on a car, you need to provide more than "it failed for some reason". Was it hardware, too little disk space, bad Win7 product id, etc. You have until Jan. 14 to upgrade using the free upgrade with a valid Win7 product ID. Best Wishes, Roger Roger Hale

I did the upgrade on my main PC yesterday and it failed for some reason and reverted back to win 7.  Problem is the registration key seems to have vanished.  It now says it is not registered. Anybody heard of this?  I can't locate my win 7 installation cd with the key on it.  I guess I may end
