Mine is a '98 Jetta TDI. Its an A3 body which got the TDI only in '98 and '99 until '99.5 which started the A4. I like the A3, its a little tinnier than an A4 but its easier to work on. It requires a timing belt at 60,000 as opposed to 100,000 in the A4 and later but it costs HALF as much to do
