Brazing diesel tanks is not safe, either. I've done it, and it sucks. My secret was to stuff a hose from the exhaust pipe of the lawn mower into the filler neck. The fumes going into the tank wouldn't burn, but the ones coming out the pinholes would light like little candles. Scary. -- Jim

Well I finally got around to fixing my fuel tank. Cut a piece of sheet metal and put it on. It isn't as pretty a job as the factory did on the fuel line spigot but it doesn't leak any more. Good day to work today 65 deg all day. It was glorious. MG ___

DC area got another 1.5" of rain last night plus high winds and a power outage on my street caused by a blown buried transformer buried in my front yard. It took several crews a couple hours to disconnect and retrieve the old transformer and install an above ground box for easier access in case

Ah, sounds very familiar. I spliced the diff end of the MG drive shaft onto the GM shaft to connect the tranny to the MG rear end. I did swap out the MGA 4.30:1 diff for an MGB 3.90:1 diff for a higher top end. Welded up the exhaust from the heads to the tail pipe, etc. No room for the starter
