Turned out that the populations were declining because there were too many wild

Yes we all thought we knew the answers. But none of them really seemed
controllable until this one. E.g. the logging clearcut runoff, or Japanese
purse seiners.

My first car was a 1951 beetle, deluxe version (aluminum trim and hydraulic
brakes. My second car was another '51 VW, standard version with cable
operated brakes. I maintained Mom's 1958 Deluxe bus, the one with all the
windows. It had the 1200cc engine and she hated it because it was so slow.

IMO there are many factors impacting salmon runs. Logging roads were
placed adjacent to creeks in order to take advantage of the relatively
level runs, multiplying the silting and polluting of the creeks. Loss of
creekside vegetation causes warming of the water, which along with the

Yes, fun picture!
Wonder how many of us have air cooled engine experience? I've driven and
worked on 63 beetle, 71 or so super beetle, 66 van, and a 69 wagon. Only had
one engine blow up and shove a valve out of the head. Rebuilt one engine.

We had a 70 Beetle, dropped #3 exhaust valve and we had a family friend rebuild
it. Rusted away, but we all drove the stuffings out of it. Great car for what
it was.
The trick to them is that they NEED valve adjustments, particularly on #3
cylinder because the oil cooler is on that side and

It’s not so much that the upholstery “wore out” but the perforated material in
the center of the cushion breaks down from wear and UV and tears easily.
My 1995 E420 has the exact same issue, probably because it spend most of it’s

I must admit, I spent a lot of time working on air cooled VW's. Staring in
highschool and progressing to owning a gas station for four years after
college. I tried to get one engine rebuilt a week in addition to the other
repairs. Lots of floors, rocker panels and ball joint front axle
"Wet Kit" is a PTO driven hydraulic pump that allows the use of auxiliary
hydraulic equipment to be used on the trailer you hook to, such as a 20 ton
hydraulic winch, for example, or a trailer mounted crane.. etc etc..like a
roll back car trailer, for example.
A Wet Kit is a pretty expensive add
