Thanks for the replies! I have checked the attributes etc on the files and directories. Don't forget that I have been running this program for a long time on this box with no problems. I have teted RAM with RamTest, it's OK. Gordon Spence told me, in a mail, has experienced the same problem,

That's the problem with silent errors. You may not know about them for a long time. By the time you learn about them, you will have completely forgotten about any configuration changes you might have done to the system that could have created the problem. I would suggest popping up a modeless
