Listers True that to the human interaction. But again we like it instant these days. But I cant say that for meteorite centrals list. I have noticed since the over haul on the list the Art did, it seem topics have changed and the amount of peoples thoughts and inputs. But again I might be wrong too. But I know this, before the change, I could go to meteorite central website and see what was the chat of the day or hour or min. But now if I go to meteorite central, the last posting was July 11. To me, with everything being about the now, I would be like, o ok, this is some old school posting going on. I barely go to meteorite central anymore because of that. But now I have to get the endless emails over and over, and at times I don't have time to look at them, and that might be one of the problems people don't chat as much. I wish that the list would be instant, then I would set my emails to bulk archive and then I could read much faster on the list who said what, or at least who said it first and go from there. However, I still like the list, but I wish the list was how it was and when you sent out the email it would be posted to meteorite central. In order to see the latest met-list posts quickly and in real time I have a desktop shortcut that takes me to the monthly archive: http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/private/meteorite-list/2013-July/date.html You'll have to log in with your email address and met-list account password whenever you restart your computer but this is no problem for me since my pc is usually on whenever I'm home. Viewing the list in this way lets you scan through all the latest posts in a few seconds and pick what you'd like to read without slowly going through everything in an email account. I rarely even check the email address I use for the list, maybe every week or two, unless I post a comment or engage in a conversation. Of interest, here, is that, Officer Poitrowski was not even assigned to the case, until October 13, 2011, yet, he had no problems presenting this, 'pre-dated,' Contract for my signature, other than having to coerce, intimidate, trick, and threaten, me to get my signature! One of thousands of cameras? Might be a bit of an overstatement. According to an article written in 2010 (after the state stopped the photo speed enforcement program), only a few local jurisdictions still use them. There are thousands of cameras in place in Arizona, some of which will still issue thousands of tickets per camera per year. They are called traffic cams and they will still capture your every move and store this data for an undetermined period of time. The cameras have OCR meaning they can read your license plate numbers. There are some people headed to Hollbrook through Kingman this weekend. Just wanted to give them a heads up on unfair ticketing going on. Somebody else posted the Curry contact which complained about unfair traffic violation citations. It is pretty bad when some cops are too lazy hand out tickets in person and depend on cameras to do the job. I have seen mobile camera trucks with 20 foot booms in Arizona waiting around blind corners on the freeway just to ruin somebody's day who may be going a few miles over the limit! It is pretty bad when you can retrace your road trip 3 months later just by accessing the data on traffic cams. What ever happened to chasing speeders down and giving them a ticket face to face so you can al least see who your accuser is and argue with them if they are wrong? To me, all this data collecting (spying) on every single person in the United States and those in other countries reflects poorly on those currently in office who are abusing this new-found power. There are so many stupid laws in place due to way too bureaucrats with nothing better to do, that a saint couldn't help but break a dozen or so laws just by leaving their house! In some neighborhoods, it is illegal to drive around the block twice due to anti-cruising ordinances. If you are lost and searching around a neighborhood and happen to go down the same street twice within an hour, who would you rather argue with the camera that automatically will send you a $280.00 ticket in the mail or a real person who may actually interpret the situation properly? Now back to meteorites. Be careful not to break too many laws while traveling several hundred miles to your destination. Inevitable, it seems somebody can count on getting a ticket if enough hunters attend an event. What ever you do; do not get caught with over 10 pounds of meteorites in your possession meaning you will have to leave that 10.1 pounder in situ to the absolute benefit of no one thanks to all the negative publicity. Also, do not sell U.S. finds on eBay including most of the dry lakes here in the Southwest, Franconia and Jellen to name a few. Re: [meteorite-list] Fw: Contracts Curry
I won't leave a 10.1 pounder in the field and I don't think many people would. Vapid laws like these make criminals out of law-abiding people. Hypothetical case - an H5 (W4) chondrite from BLM land. Let's assume one is hunting on BLM land and finds a typical weathered highly-equilibrated meteorite. It is of zero interest to science - afterall, what can the humble H5 chondrite teach us that it hasn't already? Scientists are not exactly lining up around the block to get their hands on terrestrialized H5's. It has little commercial value to an entity like the government. Let's assume it weighs 10.1 pounds - what is the market value on that? Surely it's enough to buy a toliet seat or a wrench for a government agency. Heck, they might buy a box of Bic pens with the proceeds. There is NO logical reason to prohibit a private hunter from recovering that meteorite. Now, let's assume the finder is me. I take my trusty pick and knock off a piece that weighs 100-200 grams, and throw it as far as I can to the west - making note of where the chunk lands. I now take home my legal less-than-10-pound meteorite. The next day, I go back and get the other legal 100-200g meteorite from where I tossed it. I put the smaller piece into my personal stash as unidentified specimen #15B and forget about it. I cut off the 20/20 piece for classification, have the larger mass classified, and report the TKW/mass as just under 10 pounds. Asinine law circumvented, crisis averted. In the business world, this is known as exploiting loopholes - every major company in this country does it when they dodge their tax burden by hiding their assets in offshore tax havens. If the government wants to crack down on criminals, they should go after the Fortune 500 CEO's who are stealing billions of dollars from taxpayers and destroying capitalism in the process. I'm feeling quite subversive today. LOL. Sadly the list is being used daily for off-topic rants. Meteorite-related posts are becoming the minority. There is low traffic because most have given up and either left or just don't bother anymore. If you are bored there are chatrooms. I talk politics on Facebook, I prefer to talk meteorites on this meteorite list. It has rules clearly spelled out that all post need to relate to meteorites. While cool scientific posts are often on here, and no one complains as they are usually about geology or astronomy, which can be rolled into meteorites in general, speeding tickets and cameras really don't need to be here unless you say watch out just before Holbrook turn as there is a speed camera for example. Ive been on this list for 14 years and have seen it dwindle from 50-60 posts a day down to 2 or 3 useful. Perhaps we can find our way back to meteorites? What is it with these ramblings? * Stuart McDaniel Lawndale, NC IMCA #9052 * From: Steve Curry Sent: Wednesday, July 24, 2013 10:27 PM To: Stollsteimer Robert Subject: Contracts Did you realize, that, your Rights, should you wish to exercise them, all have to do with Contracts, AND; all Contracts are subject to Service, Agreement, and Performance. For instance, my alleged arrest, which occurred on January 26, 2102, when I was issued a Traffic Citation, as opposed to an official Warrant, which was I was forced to sign, by the Grand Junction Police Department's finest, Investigative Detective, Officer Poitrowski, who had 'pre-dated' this Traffic Ticket on October 1, 2011, a full, 90-Days prior to it being served, or executed. Of interest, here, is that, Officer Poitrowski was not even assigned to the case, until October 13, 2011, yet, he had no problems presenting this, 'pre-dated,' Contract for my signature, other than having to coerce, intimidate, trick, and threaten, me to get my signature! In actuality, I had no idea, whatsoever, that, I had been arrested, until two days, later, when I read it in our local newspaper's Police Blog! This goes without saying, that, I was not presented with my Miranda Rights, which is a form of an Oral Contract, which is all about an Official Performance, declaring the Completion of Service, and an Acceptance to an Agreement to Perform. In short, this, 'pre-dated,' Traffic Citation was a, grossly, inappropriate form for a Contract to Arrest for the Public Welfare Safety another Contract, as was his inappropriate police force, another Contract, used to get my signature on this Contract. It was, by all measures, and means, a failure to serve proper notice of my Due Process; another Contract, and Equal Protection, yet, another Contract! A much larger Contract exists, which trumps, nearly, all other Contracts, is our Constitutional Bill of Rights. A Contract, which trumps the Constitutional Bill of Rights, are our Inalienable Rights Contract, and the Natural Rights Contract trumps the Contract of Inalienable Rights! The importance of this exercise, is my invitation to you, to become more 'knowledgeable' of these Contracts, and to understand, that, one Contract is, always, controlled by another. AND; when any Contract, within the framework of our Contract of Inalienable Rights, is declared Invalid; including the Constitutional Contractuals due to infractions, indiscretions, inappropriate State, and police power, judicial powers, influence, interloping intrusion of separate powers, denial of proper service, recklessness, or neglect, these Contracts become abrogations of the larger Contracts, particularly, when these Contracts fail to serve, and protect, the Spirit, and Intentions, of the greater good, and are, thus, Null Void, Unenforceable, and deserve restitution, and compensation, for the damages injuries, imposed upon the defendant, that, these Breach(s) of Contracts have caused! For a closer look, and inspection, of the Contracts, which may prove important to you, please click on the following link. You will be amazed, at the numbers of Contracts humanity has constructed over time! Pay close attention to who authored them, and why! http://patriotpost.us/documents Cheers All the Best! Hi Stuart, why don't you simply block his email address so that his emails end up in your deleted items folder and you not even see them? What this guy would hate most is if we would all ignore him. Don't mention his name, delete his postings, and for gods sake don't feed this troll.
