Subject: Re: [MOPO] Film recommendations of the past ten years?
Just to show the difference in perception that two intelligent people (I
read and respect your postings, Franc!) can experience upon viewing the
same piece of work; I hated CHICAGO. I tried twice to watch the film,
and found
I have been* SO* busy the past ten years that I have seen few movies (which
is funny, because in the 40 years before that I saw many thousands of
movies). Part of it is because I much prefer the theater experience and I
live in a small town with limited choices.
But my question to you is, What

BRUCE,
There will be lots of movie recommendations coming your way. But, if
television counts, I cannot recommend you renting the 1st 2nd and 3rd seasons
of MAD MEN enough. It is absolutely great in every way possible, sexy, funny,
supremely nostalgic and fascinating all at the same time
Three I recommend very highly:
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN-Superb Swedish horror about a bullied kid who
befriends a 12-year old girl vampire.
THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT- No, not the Who documentary. This is the film,
still in theaters, with Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, is
pitch-perfect from
Things
The Royal Tenebaums
Traffic
Once
Milk
The Watchmen
There ya go,
Dave

Thanks much Ron. But can you pick a top 20 out of these?

Since no one has picked this one, I'd like to add my vote for CHICAGO as the
best musical produced
recommend to just
about anyone from the last decade

I would like to suggest Awakenings. Robert
I wish ...that the aforementioned actors had continued to act.
