My 4th grade students are not ending their sentences with a period. It's like
they don't know when a sentence ends. This is my first year teaching writing. I
honestly don't know how to help them recognize when to add a period. Any ideas

Hello. I am in desperate need of help and I thought about this group. I am
starting school on Monday and I was told this afternoon that I will be teaching
writing (dual language). I normally teach reading and social studies. I have
never taught writing before. Writing is tested in my grade (4th)
I understand how you feel. After voicing my opinion in our literacy meetings,
against the focus on standardize testing, and the need of teaching the reader
and not the test, some teachers in my school literally stopped talking to me.
If they see me in the halls, they will look down or walk way.
What about action/adventure books for boys 3rd and 4th grade?
