After all the driving the North Shore/hwy 61 last weekend trying to find a
Boreal Owl, we woke up to one sitting in our crab apple tree right out the
living room window not far from our bird feeders. Currently just sitting in
the sun trying to sleep as Blue Jays, Chickadees, and Redpolls
Present and singing at the previously posted location in Linwood. 9-9:30 am.

The owl has now flown. An apology we misidentified the owl, was actually a
Saw-whet Owl when looked at the forehead closer. :( Sorry for the confusion.

You should be a little more specific about which Long-eared Owl in Brooklyn
Center you are talking about. Was there one posted on MOU-NET?

The people who added that data to eBird probably don't want you to know
where that bird is specifically. Please read the following if you are in

This afternoon I followed up on Brad Abendroth's post about a Eurasian Collared
Dove near Murphy-Hanrehan.
I was able to find 2 in the same area where he found one previously. This is
on Murphy Lake Blvd north of Eagle Creek Blvd. There is a large farm on the
west side of the road marked
Sad when you realize that there are jerks in any hobby, group, past time, etc.
I am withdrawing my request for help locating this owl.

We just had a flock of at least 200 Bohemian Waxwings in a crabapple tree

Oh, I am truly sorry! I thought we were talking about a bird that was
listed on eBird using the guidelines for sensitive species, and that
someone wanted a specific location to that bird anyway, with no regard to
the welfare of said bird. I didn't realize that someone posted the
location on
We had a similar discussion on wisbirdn a couple of months ago. If you read the
eBird guidelines more carefully you'll notice that it says that long-eared owl
is an example of a species that could be considered a sensitive species and
goes on to explain that they would be considered sensitive
