On Monday, December 16, I noted a flock of a dozen crows at an intersection near Kings Highway and 36th street, Minneapolis. The crows were actively picking up something from the pavement. I thought at first they were working on a piece of road kill. They appeared to be picking up and eating

A Sandhill Crane was found dead on Hannon Lake in St. Louis Park. While it was discovered on December 12, recent snow fall and tracks indicate that the bird died on December 11. It was turned into Westwood Hills Nature Center. Other area birds include usual winter suspects (i.e. American Black Duc
