different Snowy Owls. One was three miles North
We had 42 species for our Sherburne NWR Christmas Bird Count this year,

Hi Birders,
My wife and I spotted what is probably the same owl seen by Ron Taube and Vicky
Wachtier this morning. I saw the bird from eastbound Hwy 10 at 2:15 this
afternoon. We turned around to get in the westbound lane, turned north on
Armstrong Blvd, east on Sunwood Dr and took a right at
I spotted a Snowy Owl on US 75 - 1/2 mile south of Polk Co 17 (between
Euclid and Crookston). It flew right over my car. Robert Olson left me a
phone message that he saw one in the same neighborhood this morning -
likely the same bird.
Dorothy Nelson of Thief River Falls reported a Snowy Owl
I was out and about for work this afternoon and found a Snowy Owl in eastern
Redwood County. It wasn't heavily barred so I'm thinking its an adult female
or a 1st year male. It was found standing in a stubble field about a 100 yards
on the east side of Redwood County 13 and just south about

4pm.
It didn't take more than 5 minutes and I was on it as there were 2 vehicles

mile south of Polk 19. On January 1, I had reported 3 that were within a few
miles north and west of this. Comparing photos of this owl to my photos of the
previously reported owls, this appears to be a different
Between 3:30 and 4:15 this afternoon. there were at least two, probably 3
and possibly 4, Snowy Owls visible from farm roads in the
Hastings/Vermilion area. For three of the 4 sightings, the birds were
perched on irrigation equipment. On the 4th sighting, the bird was perched
on a roadside utility

Guided a birder from the state of Virginia on Tuesday.
Highlights:
Northern Hawk Owl in Sax Zim Bog along CR 7 at the Byrnes Greenhouse.
Great Gray Owl in Sax Zim Bog at the Admiral feeders. Perched right above
feeders preying on voles.
Boreal Chickadees (2) at the Admiral Rd with Gray
Today I led a trip to Sax-Zim Bog, and had some very fun finds while
visiting much of the northern half of the bog, as well as the awesome
Friends of Sax-Zim Bog bird feeders.
Our day started out with two Boreal Chickadees at sunrise, followed by
stellar looks at a juvenile Northern Goshawk when
