2. Last night I found a short eared owl hunting at 4:55pm near the SMSC
recycling facility off Canterbury road S on the south side of 169. There is
a road that leads to the facility and others refound it tonight at 4:50

The Mankato Christmas Bird Count was held on 19 December 2015. There was
just enough freezing temperatures leading up to the date that resulted in
most of the ponds and lakes being iced over. A total of 46 species were
seen, highlighted by the 100th species seen in the history of

Highlights of Bemidji and Itasca St. Park CBC's
The Bemidji CBC was on Saturday December 19 and had 38 species tentatively
reported with at least

Saturday, December 19th. Some of the highlights included:

2 Hooded Mergansers in the Duluth Harbor
1 Pacific Loon near Leif Erikson Park (1st ever for the Duluth CBC
and maybe the 1st for any MN CBC?)
