Folks have noted the very thick bill, the upturned shape of the bill, and the
pale yellowish color of the bill. To my knowledge birders have seen within the
past 15 minutes.

On the Grand Marais CBC today, Harvey Sobieck found a King Eider in Good Harbor
Bay. This is a little west of Grand Marais, and it was diving frequently less
than 100 meters offshore on the southern point of the bay.

The sewage ponds hosted a smattering of ducks, with highlights including Ruddy
Duck, Redhead, Gadwall, and Northern Shoveler. A juvenile Great Blue Heron
looked miserable on Blue Lake.

The Painted Redstart of St. Paul (Ramsey County) has been sighted again this
morning, as of an hour ago. It was spotted at 1784 Sargent by Luke Hollander.
He mentioned that he was unable to find it for a while before that, so patience
may be key here.

hours ago in Duluth. It was on the Western Waterfront Trail, specifically where

Per Facebook’s Minnesota Birding page, Brian Hiller found and photographed a
juvenile SABINE’S GULL this morning on Lake Bemidji. It’s where the Mississippi
River enters the lake in Irving. Several birders have already been able to
relocate it. A scope is required. Good birding!

Today, per Chad Heins: Bethany Hawkwatch had 2 Mississippi Kites pass over Land
Of Memories Park in Mankato around 11:45am. Both were together, catching

Also figured folks might like to know the search status for the pair of
Black-necked Stilts, one person looked this morning and did not relocate
them. I'll post here if someone spots them again.

During
Monica Bryand photographed a Little Blue Heron at the North Ottawa
Impoundment this weekend. She just shared the photo on the Minnesota
Birding Facebook group this evening, so I have no idea if it's still
around.

Matthew Thompson just photographed an adult California Gull in Scott County.
It’s on the SMSC lands, also where a Glaucous Gull was recently spotted.

Per eBird, a flyover Prairie Falcon was spotted at the River Bend Nature
Center. Doubtful it will hang around, but a reminder that their migration has
