For any interested County listers, the Harlequin Duck which was found in St
Cloud yesterday was seen briefly in the Sherburne County side of the river this
afternoon. It was seen from Riverside Park on the east side of the first
island below the dam.

a mile west of Brewster.
I was not able to find any at either the Sunset Rest Cemetery where Bob Ekblad
found them or the Lake Bella Rec Area where Brian Smith found them a few days

I just found a flock of White-winged Crossbills in the spruce stand at the end
of the Blue Hill trail in Sherburne NWR. The crossbills were near the north end
of the spruce stand initially although I later saw the same or a different
group near the south end.

Litchfield. Look for a home on the lake side of the road with a bright red

The Glaucous Gull is still present on Lake Waconia. Currently it is southwest
of the island. I viewed it from Cedar Point park on the SW side of the lake
(Cedar St and W Lake St). There is no boat access here but there is a fishing
pier.

Around 5:00 this afternoon I found a Glaucous Gull on Little Rock Lake in
Benton County. The large size as compared to the nearby Ring-billed Gulls, as
well as the lack of any black in the wing, made it fairly easy to identify.

At about 1:30 today I discovered a flock of 79 Greater White-fronted Geese on
Ogechi Lake in Mille Lacs County. Ogechi Lake is west of Mille Lacs Lake and is
a part of Kathio State Park. The geese were seen from Vineland Road about 1/2
mile west of Hwy 169.

A first-cycle Sabine's Gull was found at the Albany sewage ponds yesterday by
Steve Broste. The bird is still present as of 3:40 today on the western pond
and can be seen from the road which runs along the south side of the ponds.

The winds were basically calm overnight, so all 4 of the ponds are frozen

hayfield at CR18 and 220th Ave in Pope County. Best views are from 220th Ave
which is a dead-end road south from CR18. This is an apparent first county

the Mud River Pool on the refuge. This is in an area (Enhanced Access area)

This evening around 7:15 I was able to re-find both the Cattle Egrets (there
were 4 tonight) and the Henslow's Sparrow at the locations where Bob
Williams found them. The Henslow's was 0.3 mile north of the #12174 sign
directly across from an orange-capped white post marked Cable Buried.

Ron Erpelding just called me to say that he had re-found the Neotropic
Cormorant at the previously-posted location and it was still there as of
2:20 today. He did add that a number of American White Pelicans had moved
onto the point as well, making it difficult to see the cormorant.

On my way to look for the White-winged Scoter this afternoon, I stopped by
the Rogers sewage ponds and found a Ross Goose associating with the Canada

I did find the White-Winged Scoter on Lake Harriet before it moved, so my
thanks to Tom Tustison for posting it.

smokestacks there as I've done I don't know how many times. Yesterday, for
the first time, there were some present. One bird was seen circling the
smokestacks, and another was seen from within the hackbox located on the
left smokestack.

It was either a Snow Goose or a Ross Goose, but based on its apparent size,
I'm leaning towards Ross Goose. If anyone gets a better look, I'd

Phil Chu asked me to report that he had found a Laughing Gull on the
northwest side of Lake Koronis near Paynesville in Stearns County. The bird
was seen from CR181 about 0.5 miles north of its intersection with Crest
Ridge Road, where CR181 comes near the lake.

Ron Erpelding asked me to post that he was unable to re-find the Pacific
Loon on Lake Osakis today.
He did find both White-winged and Black Scoters there, however.

Late Tuesday Jeff Stephenson called me to report that he had found a
Black Scoter at the Rice sewage ponds in Benton County. Ron Erpelding
just called at 7:30 this morning and says there are 3 Black Scoters
still there.

they had been there by the cones on the ground at all three places.

left at that point, and the crossbills were seen
where the trees end to the right of that secondary trail.
Several parties of snowmobiles went through while I was there, so I
suspect the Woodpecker may have moved away from the noise deeper into
the trees, or may have left the area altogether.

Also note that CR14 is under construction and is detoured if you try to
come from either the west or the east, so your best bet might be to come
up CR53.

easternmost cell of the Albany sewage ponds at 3:30 this afternoon.
