I agree that it's a bit much for testing nixies, which are inherently low current devices. Certainly, the unit has both adequate voltage and current for the task at hand. If you do end up purchasing this power supply, I would strongly suggest that you employ it with a current limiting resistor

Thanks! I'm currently designing a case. I may end up making a limited run to sell, but I very much plan on making the code and design files available to others in case they wish to attempt this themselves. That said, the entire affair is all surface-mount parts placed very closely together.

I second that. It only takes about 5 mA of current through the heart to go into ventricular fibrillation. At 500V, this thing can fry you, let alone electrocute you. -ub -Original Message- From: neonixie-l@googlegroups.com [mailto:neonixi...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of David

And while we are at it, could people please call the tube Z568_M_? ;-) Or to be more accurate (assuming they were originally made without the filter coating), we should call them Z5680M. AJ, I have found my master :-) Jens -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the

OK gentlemen, I think you've adequately scared me away from purchasing one of these devices. I sure don't want to go through ventricular fibrillation. I think I'll get one of the inexpensive Tayloredge switch mode power supplies Thanks for all the input. -- You received this message because
