does anybody know where I can find a backrest- carrier for my 2002 nitehawk
750, the aftermarket ones I found on e-bay would have me cutting part of my
back fender,,, not going to do that. any suggestions on finding a new or
used one. all leads are appreciated-dick,green bay, wisconsin

If I'm not mistaken the Hondaline backrests also required some trimming
under the seat on the rear cowl.
It's just a consequence of the available mounting points.

If you use washers, you can thread a wire down through the center of the spring
and through the hole in the washer, and they won’t fall out inadvertently.

easy just to use a vice-grip to grab the spring from one end and muscle to

aftermarkets, require inch-and-a-half notches be cut into the sides of the
rear cowl to accommodate the bar's built-in mounting brackets. Once
installed, though, the brackets cover the holes, so they're not visible so

Today I cleaned the jets in a 1985 Nighthawk 650. After sitting for so long the
bike didn't idle right and stumbled through till about 3000 rpms. I've cleaned
carbs on Nighthawks many times. It's nearly always a pain getting them on and
