I've owned two and found them to be fine machines. Looking again at a 2003 750 w/23K miles. I'm thinking these bikes are good for 50-75K without any major work required- agreed? I like the conventional looks and riding position of these bike and the lack of required maintenance. I would like

EN500 Update, bike runs excellent but I have another issue. It seems moisture is getting in the oil. I have run the bike twice now for 10 miles on the road and both times there seems to be a slight amount of h2o in the oil. The drained oil looks almost just dirty with traces of a milky looking

HI graham, merry Christmas. My first thought on your oil contamination would be head gasket as well, although if you have a breach between coolant and oil passages on head gasket you probably not losee any compression, just get coolant in oil since the coolant is under more pressure. Since you

Now there’s some good thoughts Darin. I’ll check the color of the spark plugs. There’s some whitish smoke when I run it in the garage with doors open but I put that down to condensation, etc. my other bikes do the same in similar circumstances at least initially. I can’t tell if it’s smoking while

The tube you are referring to is indeed there to take blow by from crankcase and burn it . Takes it from crankcase to breather. Should be a t in it somewhere so the condensed vapor can be collected and drained drain. On my bikes this drain tube is close to carb overflow tubes under seat close to
