On the back of the bulb it isn't hard to get to, it's the dark green wire
but it runs through a dozen connections before actually grounding to the
frame. I can't tell you exactly where because my bike's DSPO got in there

Ohms reading would be more informative, but it's the same basics.

They're different. 650 has plastic blade fuses and hangs off the front. The
700S uses glass fuses and is between the handlebars. Apart from an old fuse
falling apart I've never had an issue with the block on my 700S.The
connectors behind the headlight are a different story.

We saw signs for bear all over Alberta but never saw any bears. I even
tried making picanic basket noises with no luck. The only wildlife I saw

easily have been mooses since I wouldn't know one from the other.

Ok, not the bulb or ground. My fuse box must be touchy, or by touching
anything in the box, several fuses broke/blew. I had no power and was VERY
careful, but finally found the right fuse to fix the lights. A quick touch and
it turns over so I assume will start in the am. Started raining on

And two spares. Also, those glass fuses can fall apart and intermittently
lose contact even though they look fine.

Thank you, Kyle. I saw the #1 fuse glowing. Pulled it out and put another in
and the lights came on. Rain just stopped and got it all put back together and
it starts and runs. No N light, but will go buy all new fuses in the am and

If you have the shop manual you can traces the fuses in the wiring diagram.

The 650 has glass fuses and does sit up front behind the horns. But it is
the brown plastic bulkhead plugs that attach to the mess of brass bars in

Ok, so my headlight (high and low) went out on the 1 mile ride back to the
apartment. I pulled the cover to check fuses and they all appear ok. I pulled
three out to look closer and put them back in. Now NO lights (head, neutral,
or running), no start...nothing. Horn works and signals work.
You may have a bad ground on the headlight which is why both high and low went
at the same time.
With the fuses - were they pulled while the power was on? They could have
popped when you pushed the fuse back in.
If you are umm... Confident... That there are no shorts, then you can jump the
fuse
You have a 650? The plugs on the back of the fuse block can come loose,
also a fuse can look good but still be bad. You really need a multimeter to
test them. Also check the right hand controls and your ground wires.

The starter button disables the headlight when pressed and starting the
