I don't have a google account.
Maybe I can vote with the acc of my GF.

Hi all,
Since there seems to be no other feedback in the last few days, I've
now finalised the form and made it require a login (to prevent
spamming / multiple entries):

Thanks, Nathan. This indeed looks very close to Myriad so I've updated
the poll images to use Vegur now. Now that I see them side by side I
actually prefer the tighter "s" of Carlito, but I'm not too fussed
either way.

Instead of giving 4 choices for each logo, you should ask to rank the logo.
Also, I would love to have more choices.
For example, I think the hex logo would be nicer with the weight of
the straight lambda.
Maybe instead of asking for specific logo, we could ask for different
details, such as the

I've now updated this form with the remaining options, so I think it
is nearly ready to go.
I'll let it stew for a few days in case anyone has suggestions for
improvement before we start collecting results, but does anyone know
who we'd talk to to get a link somewhere official (twitter / planet /
There is an open alternative for Myriad: Vegur.

Ahh yes, I meant to mention that - I don't really

I think so too, although I was unable to find an easy way to do this
with google forms.

If nobody authoritative wants to set up a poll, I can certainly do one :)
I'm a little bit busy at the moment, but as long as we're not in a hurry...
To prevent overwhelming people with options, and after letting these
stew for a little while, I'd be happy to limit choices to:
* shapes: just
Perhaps someone can set up a poll or something and engage people to
vote for it, to see if people prefer to stay with the old logo, or if
a new logo is preferred.
Personally, I like the old logo better, but that's just my opinion :)
(The new logo also looks nice btw)

Tim has invested some time in making great logos, and everybody seems to
like the hex-half version.
It would be too sad to loose his job, so what is the next step ?
Who is authorized to do such a modification ?
Brand nex NixOS logo !
We can tune the logo for other media later, when we print
I like that one a lot too; it is a lovely refinement of the current logo.

Wow, these logos look really nice! I agree that any of these would be an
improvement.

Perhaps we should also have separate (but related) logos for each of

how they fit together.

Personally I really like what the current logo communicates to me:
* lambdas, lots of them
* snowflake - a unique system
I'm enjoying these logos!

All of the logos Tim has proposed look like clear improvements over the
current one to me. I think we should just pick one and use it! There's no
downside to adopting one of these logos, since they maintain the same basic
design as the current one but with cleaner, modernized design.

Thanks for the feedback, folks. I hadn't seen that haskell logo page,

out the snowflake qualities for a bit more of a blocky geometrical
look. Which I think works well for a logo, but might be biased ;)

Yeah,
Thanks Tim,
I think we definitely need a new logo, for at least 2 reasons:
- The overlap of the lambda does not render correctly in all software.
- The colors are not industrial printers friendly.
All your proposal are well addressing the first issue, by removing the
overlap and adding extra
Nicolas,
You raise a very good point about the print-appropriate colours. On

for print reproduction ;)
