I tried to reproduce using the same config as you and I didn't succeed (with the development version). Can uninstall nssbackup deb package, update the branch and reinstall nssbackup ? Hi, This "problem" is known. This fact is that NSsbackup can't determine the real size needed by an incremental backup. This is because the job of deciding what is to be put in an incremental backup is left to TAR. So basically, the size that we put as required for a backup is the worst case, the size of a full uncompressed backup (even though less might actually be used). But I think what can be done for this Bug is to add a parameter that would allow the backup to proceed even though the needed space is not available. But there is a big risk in it: the risk of the user not noticing to the disk is getting full and to have no space left on the disk to have a working system. Thanks for the answer. can you change your configuration file to set something like the following ?: [log] file = /home/tmort/.local/share/nssbackup/nssbackup.log level = 10 The important part is the log level to set to 10. Then you relaunch the build, conceal your password from the log file and attach it here. oki, this is certainly due to your configuration file. According to the way you launch it, you are using the configuration file in /home/tmort/.config/nssbackup/nssbackup.conf . In that configuration you might have the target directory using a plugin. And the plugin might not be installed. hi, can you launch it through a command line and see what is written there ? There might not be anything written in the logs but I believe something will be wirtten on the shell when you launch it. If this shows nothing, you should try to rename ~/.config/nssbackup/nssbackup.conf to nssbackup.conf.old and try to relaunch the gui. The fact that there are some *.tmp files in your backups means that it wasn't correctly finished. Looking at the logs, we can also know why it didn't finish. IOError: Given copy destination '/home/abonnema/.local/share/nssbackup/mountdir/ftp_abonn...@ftp.ibackup.com/2009-09-23_05.24.46.270400.localhost.localdomain.ful' does not exist. Even though the logs says that the destination doesn't exist, I suspect that it was existing (since NSsbackup created files inside) but it has been disconnected. Maybe you FTP provider 'ibackup' cuts the connection after 1 minute of inaction. Can you check that by connecting their using an ftp client and wait for 2 minutes. Look in you client logs to see if it tells you that you were disconnected. I am using free.fr my self, and they seems to have a timeout of 45 seconds. This could cause this kind of issues. Hey, It's been a long time since I didn't take care of NSsbackup. Now I am trying to get active again. I finished my wedding and I am now married :-) . So this takes down a lot of work and programs in my personal life. I just saw what Jean-Peer did on the launchpad page : update of the description, FAQ, development. I insist to congrats and to praise all what you did for this project. THANK YOU ! :-) I hope I am now definitely back on track and that we can make this project an even more wonderful one. Is it possible that this could be due to the 'ú' you are using? The branch that you are using is a branch imported by the VCS imports team to keep the synch between source forge and Launchpad. You can't check anything in this branch. What you can do is to branch it, then check into it. If you go to the Launchpad Sbackup project page you could see the real SVN branch where you should normally check the fix in. The Default profile will always be executed. So if you have only one profile that you want to run, you should set it up in the Default Profile. Then if you want to do at least 2 types of backups (eg. backup your pictures somewhere else), you should use the Profiles functionality to create another profile. This is not a bug but maybe the UI could be changed to add the Default profile in the list of profiles and state to the user that this profile can't be disabled nor removed.
