I give more on setup below.
My three issues:
1. The space after the period in "et al." stretches, which does not look right.
I tried modifying the "otherstext" field in various ways, but could not get a
working solution. Any advice?
2. With the &quo
ail, and many mailers will display them as one thread (see attached
image that shows how it is displayed in my mailer). I suspect that's
what you've done here. Technically, the problem is that your email's
headers contain a field "References", which they shouldn't; but f
blio styles specified for Context incorporate the
ISBN field. So I just put it at the end of each entry preceded by
a \crlf.
Without further ado here is the book.foo file:

file and format the selected data in an accepted TeX
format. I'll input that file. It will take less time that I have spent
already. And it will work, including the ISBN field.
Again, thanks.

Thank you for the tip. I had a quick look at it. It looks interesting, and at
least superficially a bit like Lilypond, which I gave a try many years ago.
But I think I will stay with Finale, which fulfills all my needs in the field
of music notation, i

I found this
quite intuitive and it gave me full control on the look of my bibliography.
What you'd have to do is change in \setupcite the entry in the field "andtext"
to "y". You'd also have to change
\c!lastnamesep={ y },
\c!finalnamesep={ y },
in \setuppub
