Hi Ryan,
This sounds really complex. Have you considered doing the roto on the
texture footage and projecting it onto the card along with the footage? Any
time you're rotoing through the 3D system you're begging for trouble.
Best,

Anyone have a solution that stays in Nuke? (Re-running the Alembic files with

Hey guys -- just a little heads-up on the TCL-based auto write stuff…
Last week I discovered that this approach doesn't work in cases where the
script's name is changed before render time (which happens in Nuke7's new
background render thingo.) Bummer.
Looks like I'll need to re-write this

That sounds about right. These are always hard. Get the shadow working well
overall, then go back and fix up the problems around the feet. don't expect
one approach to get it working 100%.

Ned, not sure if I'm too late on this or not... I recently did one of

Take a few minutes in the GUI to apply your grain to a grey constant, render
out a short clip and then use that with the ScannedGrain node. The time you
spend to set it up will come back to you tenfold once you're not using that
snail-slow F_Regrain.

You could write out a CMSTestPattern, send it through Color to apply your .mga
and then generate a Nuke-friendly LUT from that. It avoids having to understand
the .mga format, but it will give you an opportunity to think about colorspace.
