I just wanted to give a heads up that there is a plan to capture the Limpkin as soon as possible, with people currently on site. I am sorry for people who might be on their way now but this turned out to be the best time for the rehabbers and, with the weather, probably for the bird as well.

The Limpkin was captured late today by a team using a large net. The bird was slowly pushed toward and into the net, then captured. The bird weighed in at 815 g, average is 900-1270, so a little underweight but otherwise seems healthy. What happens next isn't exactly known, at least by me, but we
