Three of us observed the fishing phoebe again working the little pools at the Georgica Cove Hollow inlet again yesterday afternoon. There was at least one successful catch, and one photo of a non/fish (probably some sort of larva), although sadly no further photos of the bird eating fish.

In addition to the Coopers, there are eagles (including a juvenile) and harriers working to pond and the fields, and sadly also at least two feral cats...and it seems that the fox den on the Peconic Land Trust field is occupied as well... and maybe the song sparrows are simply molting?? Jane

We are enjoying some unprecedented views of 23 Wilson Snipe (snipes?) foraging in Georgica Cove , along with one green winged teal, multiple hooded mergansers, 4 killdeer and 150++ Canada Geese. Also present at our feeders is a Baltimore Oriole. Nice birding for January at Cove Hollow Farm!
