Bird is still feeding across the canal on Baycrest Ave, Westhampton. There is a pull out at the end of the road to park in. Then walk up and look across, feeding with egrets and glossy ibis at a distance. It sometimes goes behind the phragmites, so might need some patience. Seems content for now.

I was offshore Sunday and Monday doing some incidental birding and had good numbers of shearwaters. In the area of the Bacardi Wreck on Sunday there were huge rafts of Great Shearwaters on the water and many flying about. Conservatively I would estimate there were close to 1000+ birds in the area.

Hello all, On 5/22 at Nickerson Beach I observed a Common Tern that stood out from the rest. It was the same size/shape as the other common terns, but the bill and legs were much darker. I showed the bird to a friend who is an eBird reviewer and he suggested that it was a Common Tern

For anyone interested I was able to take a shot of an interesting behavior Eric Miller pointed out while observing the Red Crossbills. The seemed to be picking at the bark (for what I am not sure) of a deciduous tree, we even observed the male feed the female red crossbill.
