Southampton Boat Ramp, Old Ponquogue Rd., (Dune Rd area)
A head up - parking at Shinnecock West is somewhat limited due to dredging
equipment. Beach access there, as well as along the west jetty, is not
permitted.

I saw a Glaucous Gull at the middle parking lot of Gravesend Bay, Brooklyn
today.
It was there the whole time I was there between 10:50 am and 11:30 am and it
was still there when I left.
Sometimes, it stayed far in the distance and the sun made it difficult to see
it. Be patient.

Hi All,
Late this afternoon, there was a first-cycle GLAUCOUS GULL sitting on the water
just off Orchard Beach. The bird then flew to the large, rock island offshore
from the center of the beach, where it looked like it was going to roost for
the night. The bird was still there when we left.

My father just sent me a picture of a first-cycle Glaucous Gull that he spotted
during his bike ride at the lake in Hendrickson Park, Valley Stream. Pretty
solid bird for Nassau, even more so inland.

Yesterday afternoon a Glaucous Gull was seen resting on a piling at Bush
Terminal Park (43rd St & 1st Ave) in Brooklyn. A Black-headed Gull was
resting with a flock of Ring-bill Gulls on the berm between the two
impoundment ponds there as well. Bobbie Manian reported a Blackheaded Gull
by Pier 5
Earlier there was a first- or second-year Glaucous Gull at Brooklyn Army
Terminal Pier 4. It was there around 10:30 and hung around for 45 minutes.
We lost track of it then, but I think it is likely to still be in the
general area.

No luck with the California Gull but found a nice 1st year Glaucous in right
near the tooth path that crosses over the belt parkway in between the kohls lot
and the middle lot. Basically exactly where the California was reported.

During a Piping Plover survey in Queens, I observed a Glaucous Gull at
Breezy Point. On the bayside at the same location, I came across 7 Tree
Swallows who were hunkered down on the beach getting sand blasted and
probably wondering why they bothered migrating. There were small flocks of

Seen Saturday after the rains at the Davis Park ferry landing Patchogue by
Lynne Herzog and me. Same sighting in October two years ago. Nice post cold
front birding in Watch Hill FI this weekend. Abundant Yellow-rumps, merlins,
flickers (50 species in all) Hilite was Lark Sparrow today.

Passing along a note from John Shemilt who observed and photographed a single
2nd winter/summer Glaucous Gull at Mecox this afternoon. The bird was roosting
on the northern most sand bar among a flock of mixed gulls.

I spent the day at Jamaica Bay NWR. There was almost no one on the trails.
I only saw two people in nearly five hours. There was incredible bird

I've had a few inquiries so to Clarify there were two Glaucous Gulls at
Coney Island Creek Park Today. Bobbi Manian and I Initially saw an all
white gull flying over the far west end of seagate from the 37th street
jetti that briefly landed on the water but was too far for a positive id.

It took a while, but I eventually relocated one if the Glaucous Gull by the
sand spit at the mouth of Coney Island Creek at 3:30pm. It was in the company
of a couple of thousand ring-billed, herring and Great Black-backed Gulls.

bird) in the Point Lookout Parking Lot.

While Holly Wilson and I were searching unsuccessfully for the Black-headed
Gull near Owl's Head Park, Brooklyn, Holly detected a first winter Glaucous
Gull on the rooftop of the wastewater treatment plant. The bird remained for

Had a first winter GLAUCOUS GULL while fishing off Breezy Point this
morning (no more than a half mile off). There is a large flock of gulls
(mostly Ring-billed, Bonapartes and Herring but with a few Laughing and
GBBGs in the mix) working over Striped Bass that are feeding on Herring sp.
