One experience I had with these sticky errors is that the difference in
clock rate between where it would mostly work and where it would always
work was huge. In one case it worked almost all the time at 4MHz, but was
only rock stable at 1MHz.

As this is a new feature, there is no risk for regression against previous
releases and we need the exposure, right?

in the direction of evaluating whether a patch is ready to be
submitted or not.
Ideally the feedback in Gerrit would come from the community
and not the maintainers. We have even automated the most
tedious of feedback: check whether the code compiles and
complies with the coding style.
