Re: [openthinclient-user] network is unreachable issue

2018-01-19 Thread Marc Häfner

Cant open /sys/class/net//address’: No such file or directory
This (slightly misformatted) error strongly suggests a timeout problem
with the network card. This timeout has been increased in newer base
versions.

Updating to a newer base version should fix this problem. (Don't forget
to make a snapshot or backup before updating.)

And as Glen suggested, it is also advisable to use the 64bit kernel
whenever possible, as this is simply a more recent kernel version (with
better device drivers) than the 32bit variant.

Good luck
Marc

2018-01-17 Thread Richard Leyshon
Hi Steve,

What is weird is that if I create a ESXi VM and set it to PXE boot it works and
loads the openthinclient OS, but every machine I try says the same thing :
connection timed out.

Could it be due to network cards or something, I am at a loss and don’t know
how to proceed?

I am getting the exact same error as Richard at just one of my sites. All my
others work fine but I went to set up this one and it hangs on the boot
"banner" page ("opentthinclient pales2.1" in blue characters) then finally
gives the error Richard shared after about 5 minutes.

This subnet is set up precisely like all my others and they have never had an
issue.

Richard,

I’ve had this issue too, initially. The appliance appears to be misconfigured.

Make sure you set the hardware type to “EN - auto graphics - 64 bit - home in
RAM – autologin”, and make sure that the hardware type actually has the “64 bit
kernel, for newer hardware” selected as the kernel to use.

Subject: [openthinclient-user] network is unreachable issue

Hi,

I have setup openthinclient appliance and am getting the following when booting
up a windows computer using pxe boot:

Can’t open /sys/class/net//address: no such file or directory

Mounting IP ADDRESS:/home on /tcos/nfshomes failed: Network is unreachable

If I create a virtualbox client and boot it with two network cards (one using
bridged and one with NAT) it boots successfully.

I have enabled debug and it says the following

IPv6: ADDRCONF (NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready.

Then

IPv6: ADDRCONF (NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready.

Cant kill pid 3965 no such process

Mounting IP ADDRESS:/home on /tcos/nfshomes failed: Network is unreachable

Cant kill pid 3987 no such process

Mounting IP ADDRESS:/home on /tcos/nfshomes failed: Network is unreachable

Cant kill pid 4009 no such process

DEBUG SHELL: Could not mount IP:/openthinclient via nfs

I have turned off spanning tree protocol as well in case that was the issue.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Richard Leyshon
