[Openvas-discuss] Openvas Postgresql - Overrides Active (not working)

Hi all,

Any idea why I wouldnt be able to activate an override when using
postgresql? It has something to do with the database because it works when
using the sqlite3 DB.

Hi

I get a warning for "pfile Multiple Cross Site Scripting and SQL Injection 
Vulnerabilities” (http://plugins.openvas.org/nasl.php?oid=103435)

The tested server hosts MailCleaner (http://www.mailcleaner.net), an mail 
filter which does *not* use pfile

The plugin tries to access 
https://mailcleaner.ethz.ch/users/kommentar.php?filecat=;>alert(/openvas-xss-test/)=0
 and checks for the following pattern in the output
"alert\(/openvas-xss-test/\)"

Check in the script
  if( http_vuln_check( port:port, url:url, 
pattern:"alert\(/openvas-xss-test/\)", check_header:TRUE ) ) {


Our application outputs a pretty long error containing

[…]
  string(44) "Invalid controller specified (kommentar.php)”
[…]

and then

[…]
  ["_requestUri":protected]=>
  string(82) 
"/users/kommentar.php?filecat=">alert(/openvas-xss-test/)=0”
[…]

I think that the plugin should be more specific in the check as I might imagine 
that also other applications would put the “offending” request in an error 
output.

I never scanned so many hosts but if i were you i would try to download the 
report through openvas-cli or connecting directly with the OpenVAS Manager. 
Also check the GSAD and Manager logs it can give a hint to what is happening 
(remember to raise the log level to max).

Hi,

Can I please get this issue clarified

Finally i'm not able to build NVT of openvas manager and its because
of Failed to shake hands with peer: The TLS connection was non-properly
terminated which is in openvasmd.log

I can open GUI in localhost:9392 but cannot scan as openvassd is not running

This is a different issue. You only have installed the Scanner (as
confirmed by openvas-check-setup) but not the Manager (as also confirmed
by openvas-check-setup).

where are you stuck? Currently the info is missing whats happening if
you run openvasmd --rebuild as suggested by openvas-check-setup.

A large PDF export of a /23 subnet with 9971 results is not possible.

Doing a cat on the report.log from the tmp folder shows:
