Hello, all,
When I sent the first message, I did the address wrong, so it
probably didn't go through. Anyway, I have 3 questions.
Does anyone know of a client for Yahoo Messenger that works with
Oralux?
Is it possible to work with PDF files?
And, what do I need to
I know for a fact that my hard drives are IDE, not SCSI. So as a result,
SCSI detection might be the problem. But I don't know where to start with
turning off the no options.

Hi Teresa,
Gnoppix is under the GPL:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/gnoppix/
As I understand it, there might be a mutual agreement from the FSF and the Gnoppix
team so that it includes the GNU project.

This is a great idea.
I have one question. Is there any particular reason the URL has the words
nongnu in it? Is this philosophically different from the gnu project?

Hello,
We mentioned a few months ago Gnoppix (with a G) since it provides the Gnome desktop
and Gnopernicus.
For information, Andreas Mueller plans to merge Gnoppix with Ubuntu.
His post is copied at the end of this mail (Annex 1).
Cheers,

You may want to experiment to disable the self-detection of some devices, if they are
not required.
The "no" something cheatcodes can skip parts of the auto detection.
So for example:

The current list of the "no" cheatcodes is:

As best I can determine, my sound card is a YAMAHA AC-XG Audio Device. This
is what Windows refers to it as.
I don't know what is in the laptop, but since it is a closed case, without
any real way to open it I am pretty sure this is the audio hardware I have.

You met this issue with the CD in the past if I remember well.
Could you indicate which is your sound card?
Thanks

Thanks Doug.
But you didn't understand what I want.
The first of all.
It's true, when Oralux finishes loading, I can see three directories:
/mnt/hda1
/mnt/hda5
/mnt/hda6
But they are empty.
The second of all.
I know how to become root in shell buffer.
But I don't know how to continue being root
Hi,
I have found something rather odd. I have
gotten the audio menu to speak correctly, all be it with choppy speech.
The menu will speak, up until the program says "Welcome to Oralux 0.6 Alpha!" or
something similar.
Then it freezes, after beeping at me. Well,
not freezes, but does not s
Hi Jim,
You probably switch to another console and using 0.6 alpha, there is no speech
feedback when this happens.
So sorry for this lack.
In fact, there are currently four virtual consoles. The first one is used by the menu
which starts Emacspeak or Yasr. And the three other ones proposes a s
Hi Folks,
I'm sending this along more to give everybody a good laugh,
rather than looking for advice. I managed to get into a real
mess with my Oralux computer yesterday. I can't remember exactly
what I was trying to do, but suddenly it quit talking to me. I
fooled around a little more, but t
