I'm not going to leave the group; I've also been here for 20+ years and,
even though the list is way less active than it used to be, I still enjoy
being part of this community and would sorely miss it if I left.

Yes! I've been using scrapbook paper for origami since at least 2005, and
probably before that. I can't remember a time when I wasn't using it for
boxes (Masu at least) and simple letterfolds or gift enclosures or card
envelopes.
1) In my experience (in the USA), scrapbook paper comes in weights
For many years (15-20?) I've been buying 8.5x11" Scrapbook Paper in "books"
or pads (you just tear the pages out) that is just slightly heavier than
regular 20lb letterpaper. I think the ink adds a tiny bit of "weight"; I
estimate it is equivalent to 24lb letterpaper. It is *not* cardstock, I use
