I find I prefer SO to blogging these days. I've not updated my blog for
nearly two years.

Oh, by right clicking on the images then selecting "Properties." Mind you,
it's becoming less and less effective. They seem to be getting smarter about
it.

I also use OpenDNS for filtering/blocking and find it effective and
non-intrusive.
On a side note - Tony how do you find the advertising company URLs? They don't
always come up in OpenDNS reports.

I don't know if this will be adequate for you, but for a firewall I use
OpenDNS - it's free and will block any categories that you select. Once
you've set it up, all you need to do is to set up the DNS to point to their
ip addresses. You can select the level of security you want, from None,

On ipad there is a great free app called AutismApps. It lists all of the
apps available under different categories such as behaviour, social skills,
sensory and many many more. It is the ultimate resource for finding apps
for anyone on the spectrum.

Hi Clint,
I am surprised, perhaps the offers have changed. I have two wikis there and
both require logins. I select the accounts that have access. However, I
think if someone knows the URL, they can get there (and see a login page).
Good luck!

For literacy, ABC Reading Eggs is the go. http://readingeggs.com.au/
It is self-paced (presumably that will let an authistic person find their
own level) and gamified learning experience that really resonates with
kids. You get reports mailed to you on how your child is progressing

Hi All,
I've had a friend ask me about Internet Nanny Software and
Numeracy/Literacy for young Autistic people.
Any suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated!

Thanks Preet,
Needs to be a web client type thing, not going to work if software has to be
installed on the client. But thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Emily,
Seems the free version can't be made private, but otherwise it would have been

I disagree, still. WPF was expanded for instance, from versions 4.0 to 4.5 of
the .net framework significantly from what I can tell from MSDN. And besides,
since Windows 8 modern apps are so limited in their feature set compared to
what we know currently today, I sort of consider Microsoft a l

I know people like web based solutions. But I find Microsoft OneNote with a
skydrive behind it - to the be the perfect wiki engine.
Pros:
- WSIWIG ot archane syntax
- cut and paste
- web links
Cons
- Everyone needs either one note installed locally or some online licensing
Perhaps Evernote?
Hi Clint,
I use Wikidot, and am very happy with it, but no idea how many users it's
limited to.
