Chaps, the GAC doesn't work. The help on appcmd.exe says: Configures a new module, which can be either a new managed module or an installed native module, with the specified settings. Managed modules can be enabled by simply adding them for the desired application and providing a managed module

Greg, What is it you are trying to do? Not sure if its a fit, but have a look at ELMAH. https://code.google.com/p/elmah/ It sounds like what you might be looking for. (am guessing though) On Tue, Jul 23, 2013 at 2:28 PM, Greg Keogh g...@mira.net wrote: Chaps, the GAC doesn't work. The help on

Native modules must be installed first. There's three ways you can do this (since you want this available, potentially, for all apps, we'll do it at the server level) a) Edit applicationHost.config (as mentioned before, look in the globalModules section) b) Use IIS Manager (use the

Sorry Ken, it's still hopeless, Native modules must be “installed” first. I don't have any native modules. It's so hopeless that I suspect I am attempting to do something that is not possible. Perhaps assuming that a managed module could be applied at the site (or whole IIS) level is erroneous.

Howdy Bill, I'm connecting to my VM using the address *myname*.cloudadd.net. From what you say then I hope that the IP will be released when I shutdown but a new one might be assigned on next start *and* the DNS will continue to work and keep the name valid. I'm not using the VM for a while, so

No, local DB is just the engine that you can run in an attached process. Dev edition gives you all the tools that come with the Enterprise edition of SQL Server. I see devs trying to learn to use SQL Server using Express or LocalDB all the time. That’s not sensible. Get the dev edition (it’s
