You might need to go where you installed iPodder 2.0, and uninstall it.
Then go to the Tunehead online where the link to download it resides, then
download it again. I hope this helps. Maybe Chris Garsted can help you get
back on track using iPodder again. This is just a suggestion, but this

PC-Audio List Help,
Hello,
as I have said already, I did uninstal. I have neither version of the
program on my computer now. I have only both their installation .exec
files, neither of which will run without an error message I described in
detail in the message to which I believe you're responding.
As for
Scott! You could use Text To Audio from Premier Assistive Technology
for $69.95. If you purchase it from Chirping Bat then we pay the $7.95

You could download the demo and try it before purchasing.

Well Chris has a link to download iPodder 2.0 on his Tunehead website.
Maybe he can help you with the exact url. I know how frustrating it is to
have a program that you use, and then you're not able to use it. I just
thought I'd give you a suggestion. Maybe others will have more to offer.
Thank you. As I said, I never have used Ipodder. I hadn't yet gotten
started learning it when I made the mistake of trying to replace it with a
newer version because when I launched it, it advised me to. Note, please,
that I didn't even get to the point where I would have found the newer
Hi Chris,
No trouble spelling your name. I honestly just thought you liked to use

No prob.

Hi Dan
Actually, I'm not offering the beta version at my site, but I certainly
could if it would be convenient? Basically, there are a few different
improvements, one being that you no longer have to do all kinds of right

that sounds cool. Believe me, not to be a wimp about it, but the last thing

Chris,
I went to betanew.com and did the search you sugggested. Actually, I typed
only Ipodder into the edit field, but that ought to have been sufficient. I
stipulated with a radio button choice only to search for beta programs.
All that came up was a version 1.1 for Linux. Did I do
try mp4 it also is a small compression and sounds much better then mp3.

Hi Dan
I think you have to be a little more specific. You have to actually type in
iPodder 2.1 beta 1. Note that the i in iPodder is a lower case i and the p
just after that is an uppercase. so, you would type something like, lower
case i, upper case podder 2.1 beta 1 in the search box and
I'll do as you say, Crhis, but that seems contrary to the way search
functions are set up anywhere else I use them, from my own Windows search
function to The New York Times and Amazon. But okay, I'll just copy and
paste the terms just as you've typed them below, and we'll see.
Thanks a lot,
Wow, I occasionally wondered what the equivalent bit rate for a cd-quality
mp3 is, now I know.
Speaking of bits, what's the significance of a44-1khz 16-bit stereo file
being designated as 14.11 kb and a 32khz stereo file being designated as
1024? Thanks,
Jay

Chris,
I pasted exactly what you supplied into the search terms box, minus the
period at the end. I also chose from the bombo box to search all downloads,
not just betas.
I was returned about 150 results, the first page of which didn't include one
single reference to IPodder.

Hi Chris. I did download that Bata version of iPodder, but I downloaded it
from jeffbishop.net. Marlaina's show last night did clear up a lot of the
questions about the program.

Hi Dan. Well they should be writing scripts for it, but the thing is,
podcasting is so new that people who write Jaws scripts haven't maybe caught
onto the bug yet.

hi. as far as I can tell, you can't. an ASX file is a text file that
references another file on the internet. So, as far as I know, this isn't
possible.

HMMM. That's discouraging. I can certainly play this asx file in either
Realplayer or Windows Media Player. Is there no way to use either of them to
save the data as either a wav or an mp3?

You did close out the program from the system tray first, didn't you?
If not, this is most likely your problem. A file can't be written to if
it is still in use, in this case, the executible for Ipodder is still
used by your system.
