Hello!
Maybe this deppends on my soundcard but since i bought my new computer i have
to turn up the volume on my stereo much higher than before.
I have a built-in ac97 soundcard.
Also the mike volume has gone far to low and there are alot of hissing and such
things.
Maybe i have to purchase a
Is that a Soundmax AD-1980 codec? If so, then I bet what's actually
happening is the card isn't muting, it's just dropping by about -36 DB
or so. If it's anything like one of the computers I have here, you can
still tell there's something there if you crank your speakers up by a
lot, but really
Thanks to everyone for all their help.
I found an E-mail contact for Creative Labs who advise that there is a
basic driver with MS-Windows but they say that I cannot connect up my
TOSLINK cable to the digital out.
I have a little converter which came with my TOSLINK cable, I think
that it goes
Hi all, hoping someone can help me out with this rather urgent problem I've

I am editing quite a lot of audio and so have done that trick where you go

It was down for a while, but last I checked was back up again.

Hi all
Speaking of this type of thing, I always got the impression that the
microphone input on most soundcards are not very goot? Would it then be
worth it really to purchase a high quality microphone to use on it?
Just curious

Hi Bruce
Thought it was perhaps only my computer, but I asked someone else in the
same office to try and open it on a different machine with exactly the same
error. Wonder if this is still an error in some parts of the world ...

I have spent endless hours trying to figure out how Media Player can rip
or
burn CDs, and have had little success. Perhaps it is because I
I believe so. though the sound card may determine your volume levels a good
quality mike is still preferable. You can always increase the volume. You
cannot always remove inherent problems that a cheap mike will bring.

PC-Audio List Help,
I've always had problems with the Media Browser. It's sort of a pain.
If changing your start page didn't help, I'm not sure what to suggest.
Real technical support is pretty helpful though.

Patrick. Yes that is it exactly. I guess my subject line is misleading.
In my original message I did say I can still hear the audio but only by
cranking the speakers way up. Only a reboot seems to resolve this
problem. Since I use this card for
The toslink digital connectors are optical, while the jack on the creative
soundcard is spdif which is an electrical stream. I don't see why one of
those M-audio converters wouldn't work. I think that the CO-1 might do it.

Hi. Since you are using mp3 files for your input and output by default
Goldwave may be set to not overwrite existing files. You can do one of
two things.
1. Put the output files in a different location than the originals.

Hi Fazil
Yes it will. If you make a cd using .wav files, and you make sure
that you produce an audio cd, not a data cd, but an audioCD, you will
be just fine.
Remember, for audio cds, make sure you choose audio when you burn them.
