Re[2]: Cassett deck to pc.
hello anders, a device which will do what you want to do was shown on QVC UK at the weekend. but instead of being just for cassette decks, it connects to your pc by USB and you can connect whatever you want to the other end including record decks, cassette decks, tv, radio, dvd and vcr. it comes with software that automatically recognises different tracks on lps or gaps between songs on a cassette. plus it can automatically remove hiss, crackles and pops for you. it can save the audio in several formats. the url for qvc uk is: www.qvcuk.com if you enter the number 553108 in their search box the details and order page will come up for this item, and below the description on this page is a watch video link that will show you an audio and video demonstration of the unit. . below is their short description for this unit. ADS Tech Instant Music Record Your Old LPs and Tapes To MP3 Salvation for doomed audio formats is at hand with Instant Music, the program that allows you to record your old vinyl albums and tapes to audio CD and MP3. You can save music as MP3, WAV and AAC audio formats and burn CDs with Nero software. And you can capture from just about any audio source too - including cassette, turntable, TV, radio and DVD. Includes Instant Music external USB 2.0 device, a CD containing Nero software and a USB cable. Requires Pentium 3 with available USB port, CD-ROM drive/burner for creating audio CDs. Compatible with Apple G4. hope this helps. pete gurney. Re: SanDisk Sansa e200 Series MP3 players.
Hi, I bought one of these units. I'll tell you about my experience with it. The only software I installed, I don't remember if there was any more or not was the Sansa Updater. Other than that, I'd grabbed a PDF of the manual which was accessible and found out how to get it off MTP into MSC or mass storage mode. It was a fairly decent player, except for the fact that the wheel is rather fiddly. It's not solid, and one physical click of it doesn't necessarily mean only one movement. A few days after I got mine, the updater killed it. I took it back to BestBuy and bought an IAudio X5. The good news for you, if you're thinking about getting one, is that Rockbox is now supported on the Sansa E200 models, as long as they're not the R series. If you can get just an E250 260, 270 or 280 you can run Rockbox on it and have fully spoken menus and file names, better recording and more format support. Re: extractin audio from emails
I see. That's strange. So could you also send the email to me please? I'll see what I can do about it here. Maybe it works in a different way in XP? With the Temporary files it always worked in Win98 I had until recently so I dunno now. I guess if nothing works to extract the file it's always possible to record the sound in real time with some audio-editing program such as Goldwave or Soundforge and then save as a new file; but c'mon, there must be some easier way than this. Sound Forge Tutorial
Hi, all! I'm trying to find a tutorial for Sound Forge 8 that is accessible. I need one ASAP. Also, I'm planning to use Sound Forge to record radio shows. I need to be able to talk over intros to songs sometimes, and I'll probably need to record intros to promote my show. Would SF be the right choice for me, since I already have it, or would it be better for me to go with GoldWave? Thanks! Re: Sound Forge Tutorial
Hi Billy, Jonathan's tutorial is quite good and mostly still relevant. I'm quite surprised that FS won't sell it anymore. You should ask Jonathan if he would be willing to give it away at this point, especially if he doesn't have any plans to revise it. Brian Hartgen also has a tutorial. I believe he can be contacted on tandt-consultency.co.uk. - Original Message - From: Billy Ray Legendary [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, April 16, 2007 5:26 PM Subject: Re: Sound Forge Tutorial Hey, Jana! I also called Jonathon directly, just to see if he might have an old copy laying around, but to no avail. I finally gave up, and bought N-Track Studio, because I wanted to get back into multi-track recording in the music world again. My total cost for the N-Track studio was $54, and I can record as many tracks as I need, at least, theoretically speaking, so if you do not find a copy of a Sound Forge tutorial, you might give it a try. Should you find a Sound Forge tutorial, please, let me know... I would like to use my Sound Forge 8.0 to modify my different music sounds with its sound editing capabilities. Here is the URL for N-Track studio, and you can find a basic tutorial on ACB radio back in about the 2001 shows by Matthew Bullis. He basically covers the menus, what they do, as well as shows you how to record basic tracks. In it, he covers the fact that if you want your first track to be a pre-recorded track, you merely hit control 1, navigate to the desired track, and hit enter, and voila! You have your first track of music... this would be perfect for your intro music. Your second track could be your voice coming into the previous track fading out. For $54, it is an easy fix, although one that costs money. At some point, I would like to speak with you about how you are doing the Internet radio thing.
Since it's owned by FS, that's probably not going to happen. Brian Hartgen (spelling), has a great tutorial as well and it's somewhat newer than Jonathan's for FS and is lower priced, or was. Don't know what its current status is. - Original Message - From: Darrell Shandrow To: PC audio discussion list. Formerly Littlejohn here... if you know what I mean. I looked into Sound Forge tutorials recently, and was told by the Snowman that I should get Jonathon Mozen's basic Sound Forge tutorial offered by Freedom Scientific, however, upon checking with Freedom, I was told that the tutorial was quite old, and therefore, not carried by them anymore. You may have heard from my sister that I am in Washington state now, so we may need to connect via email. I'll send you an email with my current email address via your Website email address. Re: Sound Forge Tutorial
Hi Gary, I think I'll write to FS and to Jonathan in that case. If FS isn't able or willing to sell it anymore, then I feel they should give it away or let us know they're serious about revising it in the relatively near future. - Original Message - From: Gary Petraccaro [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, April 16, 2007 7:49 PM Subject: Re: Sound Forge Tutorial Since it's owned by FS, that's probably not going to happen.
