Certainly the late 2012 Mac Mini is a truly outstanding machine, I have one of
corus but the later models have been cheapened and are far less powerful, this
could be an issue if you’re doing any heavy audio work.

You know Bob? You're right. I forgot about this. Yes there's a different
mind set. Like that whole interacting with tables and things. I now get it
and it does make sence but yeah at first hearing the podcasts on Blind cool
tech I was all like what the hell? Why do that? So yeah.

Sorry I should have explained things better, the Samsung is a good performing
all round external portable DVD/CD/Blueray drive.
Not the most speedy drive around no but results are reliable.

Perhaps but you must understand that learning about Mac OS and VoiceOver is
only the beginning.
If you had no experience with windows, you would accept that the awkward
way things are done in MAC OS is normal but with a little experience of
windows you will find yourself trying to work out the
Also remember VLC can with the help of Any DVD HD.

VLC can but Mac computers - to my knowledge - don't come wiht compatible
drives, certainly the one I'm using doesn't so I bought an external
Samsung, one of the best drives around at the moment by the way.

I use my Mac Mini for audio work pretty much all of the time and there's
no doubt about it, the Mac is far more flexible than a Windows machine
when it comes to audio work.
That's not the fault of Windows by the way, its just the way things
are. To put it bluntly when you're dealing with
Yeah I just remembered that. Now here's the thing does Any DVD HD work on a
Mac? Because if it does then you're right. Wala there it is problem solved.

Hi,
Honestly Mac computers are pretty cool and often relatively more stable then
windows pcs.
But VoiceOver is far from being as complex as for example Jaws, so it relies
more on apps being VoiceOver compatible.
And it took quite a lot of time before a reasonable scanner application got
available
apple has a special toll free tech support number for blind and visually
impared users. the department only works with ones using voice over. and
there very helpful. you can get support for mac, ipad and iphone and ipod.

I don't know if they'll give you any actual special treatment because
you're blind but there are plenty of resources out there such as
Applevis, and there is an email list called Mac visionaries. I use
Windows 7 and will soon upgrade to 10 so I've no plans to switch o a
mac. Far far far too
apple has great tech support for there os. and also for voice over. and its
always free.

Hi Devon and Hamit.
I've always wanted to check out a mac computer but because ive been so
brainwashed in Microsoft, I didn't have the self confidence to try it out
for myself.
What I was thinking was to keep my old Windows machine active for my mail
and so on, but the Mac could sit alone
Apple has a getting started guide, right when you turn on a new Mac. Just wait
a minute or two then follow the spoken instructions.

An IMac as in the Apple computer? If so there are Mac lists and stuff but
you'd have to listen to a lot of podcasts and stuff because you must then
now learn Mac OS. If I'm understanding the question correctly. I had learned
Mac OS but I've gotten Rusty.

and talking books and I use programmes such as Goldwave to record streaming
music. I also love burning the odd CD for a friend and recently, I've
