It is a bit twisted, and I do hope the login button is labeled on the site soon, but this method worked for me. Go to http://mlb.com Look for the word log on the page. You'll get to the login link. Enter your user name and password and hit the submit button. Now you'll be logged into the site. Get to where you enter a URL, and enter http://mlb.com/mediacenter This will bring up the table of available games. Choose the one you want, and enjoy it. I know you should be able to look for the word audio on the page and click on that link. It took me to the wrong page when I did this, so I tried the above, and it worked for me. Hope this is useful. soundBlaster question
Hello, I have installed a SoundBlaster PCI512 in my older XP machine running JFW 7.0 and have a couple of strange quirks. If I play mp3 files in winamp the sound only comes out of the front speakers unless it's a CD and when I play in media player 10 it comes out of all 4 speakers. Only problem with this is that it makes speech crackle sometimes. Speech never comes out of the back speakers no matter what program I am using which is fine but I didn't think it's supposed to do that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Audio HQ doesn't work anymore
Hello, A couple months ago I installed an SBLive Value card in a 1.1 GHZ computer running windows XP home and JFW 7.0. At the time of install, the Audio HQ worked fine. I've had a lot going on so hadn't played with it again since early April, but when I finally got around to that last night, it wouldn't work. When I click on it in the start menu I get the program open sound but find myself on the start button with no audio HQ. I can't imagine what the problem is. This machine also has Window-eyes on it and had no luck using it either. I dread doing a reinstall if necessary because that is so tricky with speech, but will do whatever would fix the problem. The Creative launcher plays havoc with both screen reader programs and until I stop it from loading at startup, have no speech so have to memorize how to get it out of there. Is this a hopeless problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. goldwave question
Is there a way to fast forward through a file by chunks of time in goldwave 5.1? I had a long file I recorded and while fast forwarding through some commercials hit the wrong button and started the vile over at the beginning. There were no markers in it because it was a game I had left recording while I was out, but was wondering if it was possible to jump 15 minutes into the file instead of having to fast forward all the way back to where I was listening? That would have really been terrible if I had been an hour in to the file. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Automatically Dropping Que Points into Spaces in Music Files and at Specified Intervals in a file If you have a whole recorded album of several tracks in a single file and you would like to automatically detect the silent spaces between each individual track and get a que point dropped in the middle of these silent spaces you can do so. You might want to do this prior to then using the Split Files feature which is also in the Edit, Que Points sub-menu. Do this by: 1. With your whole file album of tracks open, press ALT E, O and then ENTER. 2. SHIFT TAB back to Auto Que and press ENTER. 3. You should be in the Mark Silence sheet but if you are not, press CONTROL TAB to get there. 4. By default, spaces of at least 1.5 seconds only will get que points inserted into them. You can change some of these parameters if you like, e.g. change the 1.5 to 1.0 for one minute if the album you are automatically dropping que points into has only short gaps between tracks. When finished, just press ENTER to start the procedure. 5. TAB to Close and press ENTER. 9.16.5. Using Que Points to Split a file or Album into Several Separate Files or Tracks If you would like to split a long file into separate individual files, such as sections, chapters or separate music tracks from a single track recorded album, you can do this provided that your sound file is in one of a few formats, including WAV and Apple formats. Do this by: 1. If your file has not already had que points dropped in it in the appropriate places, e.g. between music tracks, do this first. 2. With your long speech file or whole music album open in the Sound window, press ALT E (for Edit), O (for Que Point) and then S (for Split File). 3. The split files will go to your normal saving destination folder, unless you change this. 4. TAB to a list of possible formats just before the destination folder browsing tree and ensure that Use CD Compatible Wave Format and Alignment is selected if you are splitting music tracks up to then burn onto a CD. This not only ensures the correct Cd sector burning points for the music tracks but it also converts the files to the correct bit rate, sampling rate, etc, format for Cd burning as well. 5. TAB to OK and press ENTER. 6. That is as easy as it is simply to get such split up tracks saved in your default saving folder. They will automatically be given filenames such as Track01.wav, Track02,wav, etc. Note: In the above split files dialogue, if you like, you can change the starting file/track numbering start point from such as track01.wav to, say, track04.wav. You might want to do this to avoid earlier saved tracks being over-written or to avoid one or more of your tracks not being saved at all because of other files already being in the folder with that same name. This starting track number point will be remembered by GoldWave, so be sure to change it back to 1 the next time you use this feature. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. It works fine, but my friend couldn't find the CD that came with it and I'm wondering if it's possible to get another one since I want to play with the extra features you have to have the CD to use, like the environmental audio. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. A friend of mine has just told me about a new Panasonic video hard drive recorder that's just come out, it has an Ethernet connection which allows it to be networked to a computer or other video recorder, a 400 gig hard drive and can record multi formats such as MP3 etc, the built-in DVD drive will also record. My friend works at Panasonic and may be able to get a unit for me to try, would any list members be interested in my findings? As yet, I haven't been able to study the manual but I'm told that the recorder features a html interface similar to those found on say the Linksys Wireless Gateways or Hp fax devices, this interface allows the user to edit chapter titles, playlists of recorded material and I'm told, set menus and functions of the recorder itself and its this last point that I'm personally very excited about for if it is indeed true, then it means that the unit will be accessible and we can bypass the displayed menus on the TV screen etc, not to mention getting the full functionality that connecting a video recorder to a comptuer can provide. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. I have a device from Sirius and the XMPCR from XM, and am spoiled with that because I can read all the XM text. I started with XM, but got Sirius for the college sports after Real Player was dropped by College Sports TV. I have dropped the Real Player college sports stuff, infact I dropped all the Real player stuff, wasn't using it. I found the Sirius quality the best until a few days ago. It seems that the XM quality audio wise has improved. If I could only afford one, I would stick with XM because of their wider choice of music. XM now has the NHL and will be the exclusive distributor of the NHL in 2007.Both have their strong points but if I could only have one I would have XM. WinMX again
Hi, I'm still trying to tolerate WinMX, but am wondering if there is a way to go back to 3.53? I'm finding it almost impossible to navigate the program with this beta 3.54 and have major focus problems in general until I restart the computer. Reinstalling the JFW scripts didn't help either. I am using the 1.9 patch and wonder if any of the earlier patches are less problematic? Any hints would be greatly appreciated. real alternative?
Hi, I am trying to listen to a couple of radio stations with Real Alternative, but when I click on the listen live link I get a save dialogue inwhich the file to save has a .smil or a .ram extension . After clicking save I am returned to the listen live link. Some real media stations play just fine with the winamp Tara plugin, but these wouldn't so downloaded the real alternative, but still no luck. Is there a certain way I should set up real alternative or will these simply not work? Thanks, Betsy -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. In the end anyhow you require to format the document for printing. Let your assistants do the proof reading and conversion. Useful for converting MP3, WAV or WMA recordings of continuous speech recorded using pocket size recording devices or laptops, palmtops etc Outdoor recordings Voice Notes Voice Event Descriptions. You just have to submit the wave files to your assistants Do a Googlie for vext007.zip. The zip is approx 24 megs. Had it installed and it appeared to do a reasonable job of converting speech to text. It doesn't claim to be perfect but it gets things acceptably close to the original so that some proof reading is required. streaming trouble
Hi, I just inherited a computer running XP, am using JFW 4.02 and am having almost no luck trying to play streams. I'm not sure which version of media player I have and cannot figure out how to get it to play in a separate window. 99% of the time nothing happens at all when I click on a station, I just find myself still sitting on the link I tried to play and the one station I can play takes over the window so cannot continue browsing for other stations, but can't do anything like change volume or see any controls of any type. I've tried running the demo of JFW 5.10 with no luck either. I guess that was a very long way of saying I have no earthly idea how to work with this media player and streams and would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions anyone could give. Re: PC Cillen
Of the 3 antivirus programs I've used I'd have to say PC Cillen was my favorite. It was very easy to use and worked really well, but unfortunately I lost my serial number when my Braille N Speak died and could never get it replaced which of course meant I couldn't get updates. This was a few years ago now so am sure there are better safeguards against such a thing so definitely think it's worth checking into. It is no big problem, as I know what and where they are on the main system. I just got off of the Trend Micro House Call site. The House Call Active X program, which they say is also in the PC Cillen software, found and completely removed the two offending trogens. Now for my question--- Is any one on these two lists or does any one know any one that is currently using or has used Trend Micro's PC Cillen software?
