anyhow,
You can also put abstraction libraries into the “libs” folder in PdParty.
Anything inside is automatically added to the search path, so you can
centralize those abstractions between separate projects.

technically, an external is a nobject that lives outside the main binary
of Pd.
since all the objects in extra/ are not part of the Pd binary,
Thanks for clarifying! :-)

cyclone, in Pd Extended, up to
yeah, it's confusing, but it's just "more" stuff into the vanilla package

Maybe because it lives in extra/ instead of src/ ?
What is extra/ there for, by the way? I remember it being mentioned in msp's
paper that introduced [pd~], but not sure why it is still there.
Giulio
- many libraries use their own abstractions as bricks for other abstractions
- pd patches are usually light (< 1 mo) unless big big tables are stored
- finding and sorting unused components is a long task
-> include the whole library

Dear pd-users,
is there a possibility to send a message to pd to get the used abstractions and
externals (beside vanilla) of an open patch?
the reason for this is, i just started to use pdparty on an ipad (very
successfully). And just for now, i transferred only the used abstractions to
the

well, i don't see any harm in being open to multiple (binary compatible)
implementations.
i don't see
yes, expr~ is now vanilla.
use that

You can also use [expr~] (built-in vanilla) for these.

yes, part of the 'nettles' lib (which comes with cyclone). At least that's true
for the old cyclone which came with Pd extended.
Also note that [expr~] is slower than the zexy and nettles externals. But
sigops are usually not the bottleneck of a patch :-).

actually, the /usr/lib/... is just a symlink to /usr/share/..., so the
files are indeed only

Hi list,
this seems to be easy but I can't figure it out:
How can I test an audio signal to lie within a certain range, or just if
it is bigger or smaller than a reference value, and receive the result
as an audio signal as well? Are there <~ an >~ objects or equivalents?
I am having problems

Hi list,
using the amazing Debian packages of Pd and am puzzled to find that the
following two paths seem owned by the same package puredata-core and
seem to exist twice:
peter@computer:~$ dpkg-query -S /usr/lib/puredata/doc/7.stuff
puredata-core: /usr/lib/puredata/doc/7.stuff
