Sure, you could buy another screwmount film body when the Ks came out,
but not a Pentax That's why I switched to Fuji when I needed a new
camera in 78. And that's why Pentax lost a lot of their loyal Spotmatic
users. If they had started with a bayonet mount early on, they would
have been okay.

Herb got it right. The Sigma 12-24 is reputed to be soft. The initial
reports of the DA 14 are that it is very good even at f2.8. The only
reason to get the Sigma would be if you also want a lens for 35 mm.

I haven´t tried the 12-24, only the 14mm, but from what I have heard it
is beat by the DA 14 in price, weight, size, sharpness, maximum
aperture and light fall off. The only reasons for buying the Sigma is
that you really want a zoom, or need full frame.

It isn't medical, so there are no health concerns, except for the risk of
general anaesthetic. It does cost alot of money, involves a special kind of
surgeon and *will* have me in a lot of pain for a little while, and
probably not
