Nope. I imagine you could make a m42-K adapter with a spring to depress
the pin. It would take careful design and would probably still
interfere with something in future cameras even if it could be built to
not interfere with anything in present cameras.

Most folks do confuse f-stop with aperture, I sure used to. However,
they are not the same thing. So you are mistaken here (I have not looked
at the Wikipedia article to see if it is correct or not).
I am not going to go through all this again, folks, look in the
archives; or better yet, get
Since the 70mm has a slightly smaller aperture opening at f/4.0 than the
85's, it should have a slightly greater DOF. However, since marked
f-stops are never very accurate, it probably is within the DOF spread of

Subtract the tax and you're getting closer to fuel prices. The problem
is that it takes about 1 1/4 gallons of petroleum fuel to produce 1
gallon of ethanol from corn or soy beans. It's a bad trade. It's like
losing money on every sale and making up the difference on volume...
