package containing the above flash unit. It looks very well build like I am
used from Metz, and the first results with my K10D look very good. I have
some manual reading to do, and some playing around. Nice in this dark
guess green button should then also be able to zero flash ev compensation.

I feel I have now a much better visual idea of how the fisheye distortion
of the DA 10-17 will affect all angles, i.e. a better idea of the
essential difference between DA 10-17 and DA 12-24:
they indeed really are two different lenses.
my fisheye-like zenitar k2.8/16 no longer is very wide on the k10d,
so I'm considering something wider.
after the zenitar my current widest is 28mm (FA* 28-70/2.8, M-28/2.8),
but I'm pretty sure I'll fall for the 16-50 DA* (and the 50-135)
when I see one available nearby (hopefully soon :-).

was more robust than for DVD (more redundancy in the
case of CD, which would give you better chance to be
able to read your data in case of bit rot on the medium).

body's flash control protocol for Flash EV Compensation, setting the

and trying to focus manually, I notice that I easily end up with
out of focus shots unless I first zoom to longest focal length,
focus, and zoom back.

I don't recall reading this manual, and found it accidentally when
shooting a show one night.
Set the K10D to digital preview, and take a preview shot. Then use the
up/down button to toggle between full histogram and RGB histogram. That
setting will be used for all instant review shots

to turn the issue around, whether there exist people
similar to wine-tasters who can 'taste' from the image
such important factors as make, plant, focal distance,
aperture, whether it was a good year when the lens blossomed --
i'm aware that there is something

is then like MZ-5, not like MZ-5n. interesting.
The main difference is in control layout.
The MZ-5 has the metering selector around the exposure compensation
dial and the drive mode selector colocated with the on/off switch
around the shutter
I may be in a position to obtain an FA* 80-200 f/2.8 in virtually new
condition. As far as i know it is reputed to be a fantastic lens.
I like it a lot; but my only comparison was with its contemporary
FA 80-200 f/4.5-5.6 (or so).
the FA lens turned out to be pretty slow for some situations I
not stopping down properly befor the shiot
is released. Exesize it 100-200 times. I use an old plastic film canister
container for this. It will take you less than 5 minutes.

I recently got myself a K10d. When I use the kit 18-55 mm
and a FA*28-70 f/2.8 everything seems to work fine.
However, with my FA*80-200 f/2.8 (aperture ring set to A)
I seem to get consistent overexposure (2 stops or so?),
of a sticky aperture lever. Flip the lever
on the lens a couple times, if it's at all slow in returning, get the
lens CLA'd.
