David,
As I said before, I haven't tested them all under such conditions.
Therefore, what I said about their capability to meter at dim light shoud
better be accepted with a grain of salt... :-)
You have mentioned (ME of some sort,MZ5n,PZ-1p or LX) four VERY different
cameras. Each one of them
Dave,
I had some problems on my own when shooting the interior or a church with a
K1000 loaded with ISO 200 film during the day. I'm not sure if it would
happen with faster film but, in any case, I decided to use a MX for those
dim subjects I mentioned earlier. It worked nicely, except for
How stupid... I totally forgot --- meaning that I didn't care to engage
brain activity ---that this would be the opposite of push processing...
Thanks!
Now, if you're metering at 1600 under tungsten light, don't ask them to
process the film at 1600, or you'll run into the same kind of
Aaron,
I first decided to give this film a try because I wanted to be able to shoot
some interior photos on dim lighted places without being intrusive. I would
like to avoid the use of flash if possible.
The first time I tried this kind of photo, using T400cn, I only managed to
get 1/15 sec.
Tom,
The PZ-1p manual states that the RTF flash range is from ISO 25 up to 800
(page 125). On the other hand, the AF500FTZ declares a maximum ISO speed of
1600 (page 31).
I believe that if I set the film speed at the body to 3200 and dial -2 stops
at the flash compensation for the RTF flash or

Frank,
Thank you for your kind words!
As I already mentioned, I'm not satisfied with that image. I think its a
nice subject, but I could have done better. I'll try again sometime next
month and see if I can improve it.
I found out that framing such a subject without an angle finder is no easy
I sometimes gloss over important facts that I take for granted, so
please keep askin' questions if my explanation is still befuddling
you...it's probably because of the way I'm explaining. :)

Thanks, Aaron!
Your explanations is very helpful.
Don't worry about taking important facts
Thanks, guys!
A word of encouragement when we're facing troubles can make all the
difference.
At least I know I am not the first to have to deal with this kind of
situation and, hopefully, I won't be the last one...
The good thing about that feeling is that, at least, I know I'm learning.
Could it be that, sometimes, modern technology steer our attention away from
what is really essential? In my case, I do feel overwhelmed by too many
resources at times... Once I took a bag full of gear to try and shoot an
specific subject. I was less than happy about the photographs I got. It
Thanks for the precise explanations. just one more question: How do you
determine how many exposures do you need to get it right? My guess is that,
on that particular photo, one second exposures wouldn't be short enough to
do the trick...

Yes. Both Pentax and Porsche have their 928 models.
;-) The Pentax one is good to 28 thru 90 mms.
Perhaps I'm just getting a little nervous. It seems that, the more I learn
about photography, the worse my photos get... Had anyone felt like this
before?

Bob,
If that's the case, I'm sorry... I guess that I'm the one that misunderstood
everything here... :-)
By the way, thank you for taking the time to comment my submission. I was
thinking about submitting a better image, but I didn't get the time to shoot
what I had in mind. To make things

I wonder what's the benefit of using multiple exposures for an image
Hi everybody,
Since I started taking more serious photos and discovered this list,
reading the PDML became a very important and pleasant part of my daily
routine. I used to read tons of e-mails everyday, and when a new PUG Gallery
was released, particularly on a Friday night, there would be a
Hi Ken,
At least we agree to disagree! No. That's not true... perhaps a slight
misunderstanding.
Of course a camera AF does not have a gear box, as a automobile does. But my
analogy was more focused --- no pun intended --- on a car drive shaft.
Perhaps it's due to my poor English, as I'm not
Hi Ken,
As a lawyer, I am not qualified to discuss about this subject to the same
extent of, for instance, an engineer. However, as a classic cars
admirer/owner who tries to understand and service them by myself, I like to
improve my knowledge concerning these aspects a mechanical machine.

That's probably because you were pushing the limits of the AF system.

Yes, that TC had a shaft to operate the AF and I'm
sure it was working properly; otherwise, the lens front element --- no IF ---
wouldn't be turning.
As I said,it might be due to the not so
precise built of that TC, as Rob Studdert reports a similar experiment where
there was no loss of AF
Thanks,
I was really anxious to see some comments about this film. I'll give it a
try as soon as it becomes available to the poor side of the world.
Perhaps it's a bit earlier or inappropriate to ask you such question, but
would you consider it capable of substituting a true BW print film?

I also got it -- three times, from two different people.
I do not think Tiazinha is anyone, it is the name of one of several
