Yup - I have one on an LX.
It seems to be a pretty OK lens (apart from being fairly heavy).
I havent used it enough yet to give a firm opinion, but ti seems to be an
OK lens.

I presume you're talking about the 90/2.8 1:1 AF Macro?
I've currently got the AF version, and I had the MF version prior to that.
Its a superb all round lens, sharp as a tack, and with excellent Bokeh (to
my poorly trained eye!). Also, the 1:1 without the use of tubes is quite handy!

Hi all.
just a quick question. I'm looking to purchase a ring flash for some
experimentation. I'm looking for TTL, and something that can support TTL on
both a digital and non-digital shoe (I use an LX or a Z1p depending on what
exactly I'm doing).
I have had some interesting results with a

The CT-2 does do TTL using a SCA500C cable, with a 300 series adaptor when
its set to the M setting. However, on older models, you may need to get a
metz factory upgrade to the electronics to get the gun to work properly
with a 372 adaptor.

Hi Peter.
I don't actually have the book itself (I used to, but have no clue where it

well to be a bit controversial, I also read the review in AP this week, and

Can it go the whole way up to 1/250th for X-Sync?

Hi.
as someone who shoots a lot of macro stuff, I'd seriously recommend the
Tamron 90/2.8, which is 1:1, and is a fabulous portrait lens to boot. Its
exceedingly sharp edge to edge, and has a 55mm front end, which fits most
ring flashes out of the box. It comes in Manual and autofocus

Hi.
I use a motor drive on an LX now and then, and I was using it the other day
for something in quite a small closed room. When I reached the end of the
roll, and rewound the film, I was horrified at how loud the rewind was (The
MD is none too quiet anyway), but it was considerably louder
Sounds like a pre-wetting problem. I now let the tank run for about 4
minutes with 1/100 ilfotol (Same thing as Kodak's Phto-flo wetting agent).
I use a Jobo, so its constant agitation.
I had the same problem on a couple of rolls i did in a hurry a few months
ago, and that was the problem.
Just spotted this over at dpreview.com
Seems to be a mock up of a new ultra-compact pentax digital. My Japanese is
a bit rusty, but it seems to be saying that its a 3MP camera.
Anyone know anything about this?

HI.
I have no experience of the pentax model, but initially when I was looking
for a Macro lens, the interesting this was that the tamron went 1:1 without
tubes. I then bought the manual Adaptall version (mostly to use on an LX).
After a slight attack of the stupids, involving a bag and a

Hi.
I Have the old manual adaptall 2 verion of this lens, and its probably my

Its very nice for portraiture, and gives a nice flat image, with fairly
shallow depth of field at 2.8. Also, it gives a lovely background effect
