Agreed. But a custom made mount would work, if costly.

Try a Nikon FM2n if you ever get a chance, it a real camera and is
very intuitive and usable.
I promise to try it out if I can get a person at a camera store to let

I don't have any specifications on it. It would probably depend on the
design and focal length of the lens used as much as anything.

Correct, but if it were wider, it might have been possible to make an
adapter even if the registry

Why do I disagree with that? Of course it may be different than its

Ann,
As far as I'm aware, the standard mount adaptor for K mount to EOS EF-S
should just fit to the lens mount on the lens. You shou;ldn't have to do
any changes to the lens itself (these weren't available when Cotty did
his surgery).

I think that Cotty would have done it anyway. I don't know for sure, I'm
sure he'll chime in but he has one of the models that requires that the

Did any of you know that it is possible to fit an EOS lens to the K10D?
This chap was selling a 600mm f/4 with IS. In one of his sample images
there is a white object with a brown background.

Short answer. Yes. But since the Nikon lens mount is a narrower opening
than the K mount it won't be able to register the correct back focus and
the lens won't achieve infinity focus. So the adapter is of limited use.
(I've never seen one by the way, only heard of them).

The difference is ~2mm in Pentax's favor. I don't know what the
tolerances are but it seems to me that you would expect a 46mm opening
for Pentax vx 44mm opening for Nikon. This implies that it would be
unwise to attempt to mount a Pentax lens on a Nikon body unless you are
willing to risk
