Good thing if you can create the FAT32 on MAC. For anyone who need to
do this on a windows (XP or older) machine, I'd recommend the freeware
application CompuApps SwissKnife v3.x

Swissknife can format any drive it can detect, including memory cards,
so USB shouldn't be a problem. Be careful, though. This is an
application that performs what you ask it to do without asking are

Their response is a little stilted, and they are referring to Panther
(Mac OS X v10.3.x) which is out of date by at least a year and a
half. Certainly written by someone much more familiar with Windows
than with Mac OS X in my estimation.
The facts:

The only written paper work is a single sheet that suggests one
install the software included on the drive, but i suspect its the
software for the one touch back up system, that i already have, but
don't use from the last Maxtor 2 1/2 years ago.

Good luck Dave. I just got an old La Cie Pocket Drive from an ebay
seller for 20 quid. It has a 30 gig 2.5 inch drive in it. That's coming
out and in is going a brand new Western Digital 250GB 5400rpm drive.
I'll be using it for storing video on. I wanted a Pocket Drive because I
already know the

Well i didi want the WD as it looked like a big jump drive, USB 2 and
the online ad said it was compatible with both OSX and XP etc.
I have no trouble moving my jump drive from Mac to PC and reading
pic's and documents, thus my main choice. Seems it was popular as i
had ordered it from our
