I'd just have to find me a country music record to play backwards ... you get
your dog back, get your truck back ...
Just have to make sure I stop it in time so I don't get the ex-wife back. 8^D

There are times when I feel like this guy:
You must spend a lot of time sitting with your head in your hands, asking "Why
me, oh Lord? Why does it always happen to me?"
To quote the great Eric Cantona,"as flies to wanton boys are we to the gods".

MY second hard-drive (Drive 'D:') just crashed with no warning. BIOS doesn't
recognize it. Dead as a door-nail.
Update: I thought I had pretty much recovered everything of importance

Slowly getting my shit back together. I've already rebuilt the spreadsheet I use
to keep to track vehicle fuel & maintenance. Going through a couple of memory
sticks I found a bunch of files I thought were lost for good.
I've even had an idea I may be able to find a copy of the blood sugar
Seems like I'm back up and running. I bought a 4TB WD Red & a new Corsair 100R
case; transferred everything except for the dead HDD and I'm starting to recover
the missing files.
There are one or two that are just gone forever. I'll have to recreate them best
I can; mainly my blood sugar
Unfortunately it doesn't help if the cause is a chip failure.

Yeah. I used to use Spinrite to test drives.
I've got a bootable Spinrite CD around here somewhere from when I was
building/refurbishing computers for family members.

Unfortunately, it's not Windoze. BIOS says there's nothing there. SATA1 is
*VACANT*.
I'm not too sure why the 'D:' drive was on SATA1 and not on SATA2, but with
modern motherboards it doesn't matter which channel the drives are connected to.
You set boot order independently.
Once I get it

I'm pretty sure the only thing I don't have a backup for is the spread sheet I
use to record my blood sugar.
