I think that the Super Pilot uses a Cds cell which requires a battery roughly
the same quality of meter you'd find in a Spotmatic KM or K1000. I think that
it _requires_ 3.5 v batteries, my old Luna Pro does.

I think my Gossens are the regular Pilot: don't need batteries.
Despite being old, they're all within a half-stop of each other,
and meter about like my TTL meters do.
They're not good in dim light. Didn't Gossen market some Pilots
that required a battery and were more sensitive?

Hi, Lon,
I ~think~ the Super Pilot requires a battery, so maybe it is a bit more
sensitive that the Pilot.
They seem a good little meter, from your comment and others, so maybe that'll
be my choice for an inexpensive meter.
thanks,

My earlier post about my old Yashica Mat got me to thinking about light
meters. I currently have an old Weston light meter, that I got for
basically nothing. I really should have something better, but as
always, funds are a consideration.

If I understand you right, you're unable to activate the meter

This is smarter, Fred. TV Contact cleaner usually works better and is
cleaner (from my experience with electronic components ..um, quite some
time ago :-) ) than WD40. I'd forgotten about using that, but I would
recommend a trip to Radio Shack for anyone wanting to try this.

I need help with what I hope will be a simple repair. I can not activate
the shutter by pushing down on the shutter release button with out firing
the camera. Is there an easy (I hope) fis for this? I do have an extra
body I can use as a part donor.
Thanks,
