The nimh batteries in my isDS go low very quickly when I've been out
shooting in 20F or lower temperatures... especially with auto bracketing.

Godfrey, Mark and Kenneth, thanks for the replies.
I'm relieved because I was afraid that I had a defective camera.
The batteries are of different ages, one set is over four years old.
I've never had a problem when used in my CoolPix 990 so this problem is

I've used my *istD in 20-30 degree temps and never saw less that 900 to
1000 hi res jpegs from each set of my Rayovac 2000 NIMH batteries (no
chimping or flash)

NiMH batteries are very cold sensitive. You should switch to lithium's

you should be using film.
